One of the most memorable experiences we had in Vietnam was celebrating Tet Lunar New Year with the locals. This holiday is the biggest celebration for people in Vietnam, and being able to immerse ourselves in the culture was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We were lucky enough to be in Da Nang for this celebration, and it was an unforgettable experience.

Da Nang’s Decorations
The city of Da Nang was covered in decorations celebrating the new year. Everywhere you looked there were colorful flowers and lights adding to the festive atmosphere. Incense filled the air, creating a feeling of peace and serenity. The streets were full of people visiting temples, hanging out at cafes, or shopping at local markets. It was a beautiful sight!

Restaurant Parties & Special Shows
Many restaurants also put on special events during Tet Lunar New Year festivities. We attended one such party which included performances by traditional Vietnamese dance troupes and musicians. This gave us a great opportunity to learn more about Vietnamese culture through dance and music. It was an amazing experience!

Visiting Temples
One of our favorite parts about celebrating Tet Lunar New Year was visiting different temples throughout Da Nang. These temples are dedicated to gods associated with peace, prosperity, and good luck for the coming year, so they are especially important during this time of celebration. We were able to go inside some of them and admire their beautiful architecture as well as observe people praying within them – it felt like a truly sacred experience!
